Ruth McClung Overwhelms Raul Grijalva In Their Only Debate
Viva Ruth! Crowd cheers for Ruth McClung
Ruth McClung nailed Raul Grijalva in her first public debate against him. It was held on the south side of Tucson, which should be his turf, but the crowd turned against him. On every topic, ranging from immigration, to health care, to education, and especially the economy and jobs, Ruth McClung inspired her supporters and made many of the independent minds in the room give her a second look.
Even when Ruth first walked into the room, cheers burst out and she was given a standing ovation. Two Hispanic women cried out “Viva Ruth! Viva Ruth!” and the entire crowd joined in on the chant. It was truly a sight to behold!
The crowd erupted when Ruth talked about unemployment, and how Grijalva’s reckless call for a boycott of his own state has exacerbated the recession for the hard working families of the district.
Ruth McClung Moneybomb Today! Donate if you can… GOODBYE GRIJALVA!
Two new polls by Magellan and Summit show that she is in a dead heat with Raul Grijalva, the man who called for a boycott of Arizona.Congressional District 7 has turned into one of the biggest sleeper races in the entire country, with Ruth rocketing ahead!
Ruth’s supporters have put together a money bomb website for her called Goodbye Grijalva (click the link!). The point is to have thousands of people donate a headline-grabbing amount of money all in one day. Certainly you can donate beforehand (they won’t mind), but the point is to have it all pour in at once!
So on Thursday, October 14, visit GoodbyeGrijalva.com and donate to Ruth anything you can give her. We need to break fundraising records here!
The rumor from the Grijalva camp is that the DCCC is going to start running TV ads in District 7 as early as tomorrow painting Ruth as a racist extremist (just look at this blog post from Mona Grijalva that plays the race card). She needs all the help we can give her to fight off these baseless attacks on her good character!
So please consider donating $10, $20, $50, $100 or more on Thursday, October 14! And make sure to forward this message to everyone you know!
Ruth McClung Gaining Fast On Grijalva In The Polls
Wow, a banner week for Pima Dems:
7 points in CD-7: Ruth McClung is within 7 points of catching Raul Grijalva according to a new poll out. CD-7 has been a snoozer for Grijalva for years but now that he has become the Joe Sweeney of Arizona tourism, maybe he has worn out his welcome with voters. Congressman Grijalva called for a tourism boycott of his own state, apparently figuring that if he took even more tax revenue away from the state, and therefore the public school system, he could “persuade” the 70%-80% of Arizonans who support SB 1070 to change their minds.
Report on Grijalva @ Pivot Point – Thank you CRTP!
Dear Patriots,
We would like to thank all of you who came out Tuesday evening to show your support of Arizona and our disdain at Raul Grijalva’s contempt for the state he was elected to “Represent”.

Instead of seeing him speaking behind the podium on the 10 o’clock news last night, it was our message that was front and center on everyone’s television screen!
Sometimes in a culture war, it is difficult to tell when you have a win…well yesterday, we had a win. We took the spotlight away from Grijalva and the Libs and put them on the defensive. He had to answer tough questions and didn’t get the usual “pass” from the media.

This is why it is so important we have people show up to these events! Please remember these events work if everyone shows up.
Well done, everyone!

CRTP Meets-up Outside Rep. Grijalva’s Yuma Office
Protesters outside congressman’s office
About two dozen members of the Colorado River Tea Party, an organization devoted to the opposition of wasteful government spending, gathered in front of Congressmen Raul Grijalva’s office on 4th Avenue Thursday to protest his support for the health care bill.
The protesters were carrying colorful signs with anti-Obama slogans as they stood on the sidewalk in peaceful protest during their lunch hour.
Grijalva, D-Ariz., could not be reached for comment Thursday.
“As we speak, Congress is deeming their approval of health care which I guess is technically different from voting somehow, so when they come home and face the populous, the people who have to pay for all of these shenanigans, they can say they never voted for it,” said Don Shooter, chairman of the Colorado River Tea Party.
Shooter said he believes many Americans are against the health bill.
“It just gets more and more bizarre. The American people don’t want it by every measure, by every poll and by every standard of decency, and yet they cram it down our throats. Well, when they cram it down our throat, we are gonna cram something, you know where, in November.”
Shooter presented a letter to the local office decrying Grijalva’s stance at the beginning of the protest.
“Despite a full year of debate, town halls and grass-roots protesting, the Obama Administration is set to defy the will of the American people and ram health care reform through Congress using shady deals and parliamentary gimmickry,” it read.
“We the people have been put on two weeks notice; the administration has called for a final vote March 18. Let’s show them… that we reject it, that we are angry and that we are serious.”
