Meeting Minutes 6/18/26

From the meeting on June 18, 2026.

Meeting called to order: By Carl Kizer at 6:00 pm.

Invocation: Delivered by Cecil Boelts and Marlene Rowe.

Pledge: Led by Carl Kizer.

New Visitors: None.

Elected Officials Present: David Lara, County Recorder.

Candidates Present: Nicole Baggerly, Yuma Union High School District Board; John Le Sueur, Superior Court, Div. 5; Bobbie Jo Daily, County Clerk of the Superior Court; Malba Alvarez, County Clerk of the Superior Court.

Recognition: Carl Kizer recognized Lyle Wheeler publicly for his dedication in putting up Biggs for Governor signs all over the Foothills area, particularly on Fortuna Road, Foothills Blvd., and both the North and South Frontage Roads.

Secretary’s Report: Minutes of the CRTP Meetings are located on the CRTP website for review by the membership.

Treasurer’s Report: Teresa Robinson’s report is given verbally at the CRTP General Meeting the month after each calendar Quarter. The next report will be delivered during the July meeting.

Ways and Means: Cindy Wenberg delivered the report. She thanked the volunteers who helped with events and functions, and those who provided refreshments. Cindy also announced that a basket would be auctioned off at the end of the meeting.

New Business: Nicole Baggerly announced that she is working with the State GOP on poll watching, and solicited volunteers. Sign up at republicanpollworkers.com

Steve brought up the new CRTP America250 Page and encouraged everyone to see what is available through the site. Steve also brought up that the CRTP is working to broadcast the July meeting over MS Teams as a test. Steve advise the members present that the website now has an RSVP function with an automatic reminder feature, and that it is helpful when people use that for events because it helps estimate refreshments more accurately. Steve also advised members of the upcoming speakers.

Guest Speaker #1: The first speaker was Bobbie Jo Daily, who is running for County Clerk of the Superior Court. She spoke about her tenure on the staff which gives her 15 years of experience with the Clerk’s Office processes and procedures, rising to Chief Deputy, and that in her candidacy for the elected role, is focused on efficiency, customer service, and equal treatment for all.

Guest Speaker #2: The second speaker was Penny Pew, who is the District Director for Congressman Paul Gosar (AZ CD9). She provided a legislative update, some items being considered in congress, activities related to crime and the border, other noteworthy items in other parts of the district, and interacted with the members present in open Q&A and one-on-one before, and after the formal session.

Auction: The auction was a great success, and Bill and Elaine Agee are the proud owners of the fabulous gift basket containing a slew of patriotic and CRTP memorabilia! Thank you to the Agees for their generous donation to the CRTP!

Motion to Adjourn: Lyle Wheeler moved to adjourn, and a second from Cecil Boelts was received at 7:35.
