The three men expressed their gratitude at being able to appear together and inform us of the cooperative work that has been ongoing since they assumed office in 2025. They have joined forces to inform the public and facilitate the public’s understanding of how their offices function and work to benefit the average homeowner.
Stevie explained his office has or will look at every parcel of land in Yuma county and assess a fair market value and reflect that on future tax bills. He explained how to check tax assessment documents to be sure they are accurate.
David Alexandre explained he is responsible for collecting taxes and paying Yuma County bills. He has a very important job and takes that responsibility seriously. His door is always open and he welcomes any and all questions you may have about your tax dollars and how they’re spent.
David Lara has several responsibilities. He oversees voter registration, and records deeds. His office is linked closely with the assessor’s office and they often work together to resolve issues.
There will be a Community Resource Day on February 4, 2026, at 197 S. Main Street in Yuma at 6:00 P.M. to connect with the Recorder, Assessor, and Treasurer to learn, ask questions, and feel supported in the community. Hopefully you will gain an understanding of recorded documents, assessment practices, and property taxation.
After each gentleman briefly explained his role in Yuma County government, there was a very informative Q & A session.
